4 month stats

We finally made it to Joe's 4 month check-up even though he's almost five months.
He weighed 17.0 pounds and was 26 1/2 in long. That's 75th percentile for both. So, not as big as I thought he would be. Everyone always comments on how big he is, so I thought for sure he'd be above 90th percent! Although, he has dropped in weight from 90th percent to 75th, so I guess we should start the solids soon. I've been putting it off b/c it's just one more thing to squeeze into the schedule and one more thing to buy!

Answers to some questions: We went to King's Orchard to pick strawberries and we went to Independence Texas to see bluebonnets (right past the blue bell factory). But, you can really just drive down 290 and stop anywhere to see them.

Funny Reece

-Reece named her hands Bob and Larry.

-She named her Daddy's hands Susie and Emily (her dolls' names)

-She pronounces "grasshopper" "Hoss-grapper" And we don't correct her...it's too funny

-She is very open about sharing her feelings. She will say "I'm sad" or "I'm not very happy today" Or "A noka will make me happy"

-"Noka" is her made-up word for a sippy cup or a regular cup of some kind of liquid.

-She likes to shorten words. For example, saying "dipe" for "diaper" and "monk" for "monkey"

-We read so many books that sometimes she'll speak as if she were reading a book. She'll narrate what's going on. For example, if Joseph's jumping in the jumper, she'll say "'This is fun!' Joseph shouted" "'I got a boo-boo!' cried Reece"

-She thinks everything is "beautiful." "Mommy, your hair is beautiful," or, "What a beautiful stool!" Which is what she said while going potty at Anne's house.

-When we were into intense potty training, I would think of almost anything to say or sing so that she would go in the toilet. I said to her once, "Reece, be really quiet. I think I hear your pee-pee coming!" So now, every time on the toilet right before she starts going, she'll say, "Mommy, do you hear it?"

-The other day after disciplining Reece for something she said, "Mommy, I lost my smile." It was so sad and pathetic, but funny, too.

-She calls her clothes hamper "hamster"
She is very smart and silly and always keeps us laughing!!

Busy Week

We had such a fun and busy week this past week. It all started from a visit with Daniel's grandparents. They have been in town off and on for the past few weeks, so we have been blessed to spend lots of time with them. They came to dinner for their last visit before heading back to Washington. Reece really loved spending time with them.

Joe giggling with Grandma Lin.

Grandpa Dale reading with Reece.
Goin' on a berry hunt!
My friend Anne, her son John, Reece, Joe and I all went to strawberry pickin'! It was lots of fun and we got to eat some yummy strawberries. Reece picked strawberries, played in the sand, and took a bite out of every strawberry before putting it into the pail!
John and Reece in Anne's BOB!Joe rode happily in the pouch.

Yea, you found a nice red one!

We also took our first trip to the Childrens' Museum. We were a big group: Grandmama, Aunt Lora, Cousins Christian, Jacob and Rowan, Daddy, Mommy, Joe and Reece. It was so fun and overwhelming! And SO crowded b/c it was spring break. Of course, Mom left the camera in the car, so this picture is of a very tired Reece on the way home with the doggie Grandma got her in the gift shop. She passed out all the way home, of course :)

Cute matching brother and sister!

I'm so bad about working on things like "tummy time." But, we have Joe's 4 month check up next week, so I better get him working on it! Everyone ALWAYS comments on how big our boy is. I don't know how much he weighs, but he is in 6-9 month clothes, and some 12 month clothes!

We also went to have a picnic with our great small group friends yesterday in the bluebonnets. Of course, I forgot the camera. I hope someone got some good pics to share with me :)

Cute Faces

Flying Joe

Reece has many faces. Here are just a few...
Sad Face.
Scary Face.

Squishy Face.

Surprised Face.
(and yes, that is our dog shocker collar she is wearing as a hat, and no, it wasn't on!)

Joe and Monkey Friend.

Reece is now calling Joe her "best friend." I told her that I wanted them to be best friends, so now she is saying things like, "Where is my best friend," or "I'll give this toy to my best friend." SO cute!
See previous post for videos!!

Videos!!

I finally figured out how to post videos!! I hope it worked...

This one is of Joe laughing. I've tried SO many times to get his laugh on camera, but each time I pull out the camera, he just stares at it and forgets what he was laughing at. But, I got an okay laugh on this one.

While I was filming Joe, I thought Reece was peacefully painting next to me. It was a little TOO peaceful, so this is what I found when I went to check on her...

Four Months

Joe-Man is four months old today!! I thought this picture was so cute! I think it looks like a little school-boy picture. Joe is such an amazing addition to our family. It's like he's been a part of our family forever. When he's not in my arms, I really feel naked! He loves his mommy so much and that's probably because he's always in my lap or looking at my face. It's not that he's a fussy baby, it's just that I love holding him. And, Reece is also very fond of him. She's always asking, "Where's Joseph" (sounds like "Doe-suff" when she says it). She loves picking out his shirts, giving him toys, and taking baths with him. We love his cute laugh and his big smile.

Although this picture makes it seem that he is in a happy mood, no one in our house has been in a happy mood all weekend. Mommy has been sick and everyone knows when mommy is sick, no one is happy! Reece and Joseph have also been sick, so we've all be lying around all weekend. Daniel has been working nights and helping as much as he could (he even went in late one night so he could put the kids to bed.) And my mom came to help. Thanks Daniel and Mom!!

I'm so hoping for a great night's sleep and a healthy week!!
Here's some brother and sister love! :)

After I took this picture, Joe grabbed a handful of Reece's hair and Reece burst into tears...

it took me few seconds to free her hair from his firm baby grip as her screaming in terror continued...
bother and sister love moment cut short...
